1894-S Barber

The rarest of the rare dimes is the 1894-S Barber Dime. This dime was produced within the walls of San Francisco for only 24 such coins in the entire year of 1894. As far as the entire history of American coins goes, this is one of the most fiercely sought after coins out there.
Today, there are at most nine coins that exist. That’s how rare they have become, causing them to become incredibly valuable. One coin has already been sold in 2016, nearly for $2 million, making it a world record for dimes.
It bears the traditional Barber design, Liberty’s head on the obverse and a wreath on the reverse. However, this dimes’ most unusual thing about itself is an ambiguous history.
The most well-known tale goes that it was given to his daughter by the superintendent of the San Francisco Mint and that she later spent one of those three dimes on ice cream. Whether or not this proves accurate, however, the chase has enriched the coin’s allure and value.
1796 Draped Bust
1796 Draped Bust Dime is among the coins in the national history of America. Today, it is the first dime minted in the Mint of the United States and thus carries a solid historical weight.
It’s got a small eagle in the reverse face of the coin and Liberty’s portrait in the upper face. This small eagle design was used only two years before being changed, making it even rarer.
It is the best-known specimen, MS-67; therefore, in 2016, it was sold for $1.32 million. However, since it possesses significant historical value and with growing demand for rare coins, norms indicate that this number could easily exceed $1.8 million today.
1733-CC No Arrows

The Liberty Seated dime minted in Carson City in 1873 is an absolute numismatic unicorn. That year, the weight standard changed for dime coins, and the account states that these coins were supposedly destroyed completely. One specimen, however, survived and serves as the only known such example.
This unique coin was last sold in 2012 for $1.84 million. Nowadays, with increasing interest in rare numismatics from around the world, experts are starting to consider it to be worth about $2.5 million.
Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the dime also depicts Liberty seated on a rock, holding a pole on which stands a liberty cap. The reverse has a wreath encompassing the words “ONE DIME.” In terms of its design, though, it has no significant worth-except in the fact that it is the only remaining example of this coin that was meant to be extinct.
1975 No S Roosevelt

Part of the 1975 proof set, this dime was struck without the “S” mint mark, indicating it was minted at the San Francisco Mint. It is one of the rarest modern coins, with only two known specimens.
That dime, by way of its sale in 2019, reached the amount of $456,000. Interest has grown in error coins and modern rarities, and the current experts believe that it would be worth around $500,000.

The last sale of the 1822 Capped Bust Dime was in 2016 when a Proof-66 specimen brought $440,625. But since it is now the most extreme scarce and rarer, the increasing demand indicates that, if such a coin were into the market today, one could pay such a sum as $2.5 million for it.
This coin was engraved by John Reich and depicts Liberty crowned with a cap on the obverse, while on the reverse an eagle has a breast protected by a shield. Value does not derive from the design but from the mystery and extreme rarity of the coin itself.
